Our Work

SWEEP promotes the expansion and improvement of utility energy efficiency programs, sustainable building codes and regulations, and the advancement of clean transportation in the Southwest. We work on policy to establish energy equity for vulnerable communities, cost savings for homeowners and commuters, and advocacy for tackling the climate crisis.

On October 10, join experts from across the country for insights on best practices to make the local approval process for siting and installation of charging infrastructure clear, predictable, and equitable. The webinar will include case studies from leading municipalities.

In this webinar, panelists include Karen Apple, Electric Vehicle Program Manager at the City of Phoenix Office of Sustainability; Syed Abbas, Director of Education at Slipstream, Inc. and former alder and President of the Common Council of Madison, Wisconsin; and Ed Gilliland, Interstate Renewable Energy Council’s Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives.

These speakers will explore resources and road maps available to inform decisionmakers in every aspect of the planning, implementation, and enforcement processes for EVs.

Topics include how to incorporate EV charging into comprehensive planning, ways to make the planning process more inclusive, how to incorporate EV charging into zoning bylaws, and more.
