The Phoenician, a AAA Five Diamond luxury resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, specializes in providing guests with the highest level of comfort.  The nearly 23-year-old property has undergone a number of upgrades to make it more sustainable and energy efficient. Examples include:

  • New computerized irrigation technology (WeatherTrak, a subscription-based “smart water” management system) for 25 landscaped acres – return on investment 18 months

  • Lighting retrofits in non-guest areas and garages – return on investment 12-14 months

  • Lighting occupancy sensors

  • “Heatsavr” liquid pool cover for winter months

Savings found through these and other efficiency measures have enabled The Phoenician to meet, or beat, its previous year’s utility bills, while introducing a brand new, 45,000 sq. ft. ballroom and conference facility.

Its image as a sustainable resort has also helped to attract businesses and other groups seeking to host conferences and events at facilities that align with their values.  The Phoenix Green Chamber of Commerce has hosted past meetings at The Phoenician.

The Phoenician has been “certified green” by the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association – one of just eight properties in Arizona to receive this sought-after designation.
