find out more about alternative fuels and vehicles.
The
Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides
historical and future projections for energy use,
vehicle technology penetration, vehicle sales, VMT among
others in the transportation sector.
EPA’s SmartWay program provides information on
products and services for heavy duty vehicles that
improve vehicle efficiency, air quality and reduce
greenhouse gas emissions.
The
Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) Policy
Information site provides national and state level
data for a wide number of transportation metrics
including VMT, number of vehicles, rural and urban miles
driven, fuel use and highway financing
Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) serve as
regional planning agencies for urban areas with multiple
jurisdictions. They examine policies related to
development, transportation, air and water quality and
