Public Recognition
Participating companies will receive public
recognition and a certificate from the Governor's
Energy Office (GEO). The first group of companies to join the
program, prior to the kickoff recognition event in July
2010, received special acknowledgement as Charter
Members. The Governor presents awards each year
to participating companies that achieve outstanding
energy savings.
The Governor of Colorado supports this program
because it helps industrial facilities to reduce energy
costs and improve competitiveness, while also reducing
greenhouse gas emissions. The emission reductions
contribute towards achieving the goals of the Colorado
Climate Action Plan.
2011 Recognition Event
In July of 2011, Governor John
Hickenlooper recognized Amgen as “Partner of the Year”
and recognized four additional companies for their
outstanding achievements in improving energy efficiency
over the last two years (2009-2011). The Governor also
recognized eight additional companies for joining the
CIEC program.
