Wyoming
Building Energy Codes
Wyoming does not have a statewide energy code. The
Wyoming State Fire Marshal's office, which develops minimum building codes and
standards for the state, has recommended that local jurisdictions adopt the 1989
Model Energy Code for both residential and commercial construction.
Local jurisdictions do have the authority to adopt stronger energy codes if
they wish. Only the town of Laramie has done so; it administers the 2003
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
Visit the website of the International Code Council at
www.iccsafe.org for up-to-date
jurisdictional adoption information.
