Building Code Information and Training Resources

The following organizations provide training, technical assistance and guidance to state and local officials and the building industry with building code adoption, code updates, and code compliance and enforcement.   Additional training programs and resources may be available in your state.

Arizona

Arizona is a home rule state, with codes adopted and enforced by local jurisdictions.

• Arizona Department of Commerce, Energy Office

Colorado

Colorado is a home rule state, with codes adopted and enforced by local jurisdictions.  The 2003 IECC or any successor edition, however, is the minimum energy code for any jurisdiction that has adopted a building code.

• Governor’s Energy Office

New Mexico

• State Energy Office: New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, Energy Conservation and Management Division
• In New Mexico, building codes are adopted  and enforced by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, Construction Industries Division.

Nevada

• Nevada State Office of Energy

Utah

• Utah Geological Survey, State Energy Program

Wyoming

Wyoming is a home rule state, with codes adopted and enforced by local jurisdictions.
